Audia is a text‑to‑speech reading app. This page explains, in full, what data the app collects and why.
With your explicit consent — asked the first time you open the app, and withdrawable at any time from Settings → Privacy — Audia uses Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config / A/B Testing, and Crashlytics) to understand how the app is used, to try out different versions of a feature with different users, and to find and fix crashes:
Audia does not collect your name, email, or any other personally identifiable data. Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) is never used either — the app never requests it, so no App Tracking Transparency prompt appears when you open the app.
Data is processed by Google Ireland Limited, via Google Analytics, Firebase Remote Config, and Firebase Crashlytics, acting as data processor. For users outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, the same data is processed by Google LLC on servers in the United States. It is not sold, not shared with third parties for advertising purposes, and not shared with any other service.
Processing is based on your explicit consent. You can grant or withdraw it at any time from Settings → Privacy → "Share usage and crash data" inside the app — this single toggle covers Analytics, Remote Config / A/B Testing, and Crashlytics; there is no separate consent step for any of them. Withdrawing it does not affect how Audia works — the app functions identically with or without this data being collected, and always falls back to its default (non-experimental) behavior.
Event, experiment, and profile-attribute data is retained according to Google Analytics 4's standard retention settings, after which it is automatically deleted. Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, and portability by writing to the address below. You may also file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
This section supplements the information above for residents of California, as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Categories collected. In the last 12 months, and only if you opted in, Audia collected: identifiers (the anonymous per‑install identifier generated by Firebase); internet or other electronic network activity (which screens and features you use, and which A/B test variant you were assigned); commercial information (which in‑app purchases you made); and inferences limited to your current plan and preferred reading language. If you did not opt in, none of this is collected. Audia collects no sensitive personal information, and collects nothing from sources other than your own device.
Purpose. This data is used only for the analytics, A/B testing, and crash‑diagnosis purposes described above, and for no incompatible purpose.
No sale or sharing. Audia does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and has not done so in the last 12 months. Because nothing is sold or shared, no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link is provided.
Your rights. Subject to the exceptions in the law, you may:
The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information does not apply, because none is collected. To exercise a right, write to [email protected] from the email address you want verified; you may also use an authorized agent. There is no fee, and no change in service, for exercising these rights.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code § 1798.83 lets California residents ask about disclosures of personal information to third parties for those parties’ direct‑marketing purposes. Audia makes no such disclosures.
Audia is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, write to the address below and it will be deleted.
