Fall asleep listening to your book

Many people prefer not to look at a screen right before bed. With Audia you can keep “reading” by ear: start your book playing, the sleep timer stops it on its own, and if you half wake up, shake your iPhone to keep it going.

How to set it up

  1. Start the book playing

Open any book you've already imported, or one from the Audia Library, and tap play.

  2. Turn on the sleep timer

In the playback controls, pick the sleep timer and how long you want it to play: 5, 15, 30 minutes, or whatever you prefer.

  3. Lock the screen and drift off

You can lock the screen or switch apps: playback keeps going in the background until the timer stops it.

  4. If you half wake up

Shake your iPhone and Audia resumes reading right where it left off, for a few more minutes.

FAQ

Do I need internet to listen at night?+

No, as long as the book is already imported. Narration happens on your iPhone or iPad, so it works in airplane mode.

Which voice is best for falling asleep?+

It's a matter of taste. Try a few voices in the picker before deciding; some read at a slower pace by default.

Does the timer erase my progress?+

No. When the timer stops playback, your progress is saved exactly where it stopped.

Is it free?+

Yes, Audia is free to download and the sleep timer is available at no cost, with a daily limit on listening with premium voices.
