How to listen to an EPUB book on iPhone
An EPUB is an ebook, and with Audia you can turn it into an audiobook in a couple of minutes: neural voices, offline and no subscription.
Before you start
You need a DRM-free EPUB (books with DRM protection from some stores can't be imported) and an iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or later.
If you don't have one yet, the Audia Library has public-domain classics ready to listen to.
Step by step
Install Audia
Download it free from the App Store. No account needed.
Import your EPUB
Tap the + button in your library and pick how to add it:
- From your files: choose the EPUB in the Files app, iCloud Drive or wherever it lives.
- From your computer: tap the Wi-Fi icon, open the address the app shows in your browser (with your iPhone and computer on the same network) and drag your EPUBs onto the page.
Pick a voice
The voice picker lets you hear each voice before you decide, adjust its speed and save your favorites.
Press play
Audia reads the book aloud and highlights the word being read. Playback continues with the screen locked or another app open.
Make it fit your routine
Use the sleep timer to fall asleep listening; when it ends, shake your iPhone to resume where you were. Audia Plus adds bookmarks, full-book search and CarPlay.

Can I listen to an EPUB with DRM?+
No. Audia only imports DRM-free EPUB files; protected books can't be opened.
Do I need internet to listen?+
No. Narration is generated on your iPhone or iPad, so anything you've already imported plays offline. You only need a connection to download web articles or books from the Audia Library.
Where can I get free EPUB books?+
Public-domain books are legal to download and read. The Audia Library also includes classics you can add to your library with one tap.
What other formats does Audia support?+
PDF with selectable text, MOBI, AZW, PRC, TXT, RTF, DOCX, ODT and FB2, plus pasted text and web articles.
